Freeholder Michael Marotta was elected to the Board of Chosen Freeholders in November 2009. He is a life long resident of Passaic County, who with his wife, the former Denise Yodice, and their three daughters, Corinne, Jaclyn, and Michele, live in Wayne Township for the past twenty years.

Michael attended Passaic Valley High School in Little Falls. As the manager of the Construction and Maintenance Department for Passaic Valley Water Commission in Clifton, he understands the feeling of responsibility and having people depend on him. Working at the Water Commission for the past twenty-five years has taught Michael the importance of working hard, keeping costs low, and providing public service.

Freeholder Marotta operates a construction company with his brother, Bill Marotta. Michael is the Former Shop Steward and Executive Board member of CWA Local 1032. He is also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #5846. Michael is honored to be a Silver Card Holder of Passaic County PBA Conference.

In 2011, Freeholder Marotta is Chairman of the Public Works and Buildings and Grounds Committee and he is a member of the Human Services Committee. He is an alternate member of the Passaic County Planning Board.
